PART A

Here’s some quick information you need to know before you sign up to lead your own MGG chapter!

What does it mean to start your own chapter?

This means that you are a chapter lead - either a State (national level leadership) or National President (international level leadership) based on what the Mission Green Global board chooses you based on application and availability (for example, if there’s already a National President for Canada, you’ll be a Province President).

Important Rules:

As you are representing Mission Green Global, we are holding you to the highest standards! While we’re here to help you, you are also a leader, which means you take responsibility for your chapter. Any chapter/chapter leader that is not functioning well will be taken account of. The consequences are as follows:

  • Taking longer than one-two weeks to respond to official Mission Green Global leadership emails for unexcused reasons

  • Acting with disrespect towards any volunteers, board members, or the organization.

  • Not completing Chapter Requirements (pg. 3 of this document)

First Offense: Warning
Second Offense: Warning
Third Offense: Resignation of Chapter Lead

PART B (expansion of responsibilities)

You must complete all yearly requirements below in order to maintain your chapter!

  • Have at least a 3 - Member Board (including you!). They can be any roles within Step C (below!) and can be your friends - in fact, we suggest that! If this is difficult for you, please email missiongreenglobalmgg@gmail.com; we can help you.

  • Run Volunteering Base (connected to Global Mission Green Global)

    • Promote volunteering programs in your community/state/country through Social Media, flyers, and promoting other chapters and the global MGG!

    • Make three reels monthly (10 seconds) promoting volunteering programs for the entire organization (not just your chapter). It can be you or your board members.

  • Plan at least 4 events

  • Direct service hour requests for your volunteers/event helpers to missiongreenglobalmgg@gmail.com. We will approve them for you. We will distribute and approve service hours for the global volunteering program.

  • Manage Social Media for your Chapter (connected to Your Chapter of Mission Green Global)

    • Create social media (Instagram required, other modes appreciated!) content to promote your individual events

PART C

While running your own chapter, you’ll find it easier to not only distribute tasks with a team of board members, but easier idea generation and better action and having more fun.

Some Recommended Positions (first one mandatory, of course; organize as you see fit!)

1. The National/State/Province Lead shall convene regularly scheduled Board meetings for their chapter, supervise events, responsibilities, elections, and activities put forth by the Chapter (and requirements to run a chapter as set by Mission Green Global), and oversee board members and their duties.

2. The Finance Lead will oversee financial aspects of the Chapter and assist in the preparation of the budget, help develop fundraising plans, and make financial information available to Mission Green Global Executive Board members and the public.

3. The Publicity Lead will oversee media publicity aspects of the Chapter and direct social media and online media content.

4. The Logistics Lead will coordinate logistics needed to host events for the Chapter.

5. The Operations Lead will oversee volunteers belonging to that Chapter region.

6. The Outreach Lead will be responsible for planning and marketing future events for the Chapter (required yearly 4 events as mentioned in Step B!).

Their roles can be modified as needed, and board members (not including the National/State/Province Lead) can be added or removed. The National/State/Province Lead can only be removed by the Mission Green Global Executive Board.

Clarifications:

  1. The Executive Team is composed of the original founders of Mission Green Global, whereas the Chapter Board Team is composed of the board members you choose for your chapter.

  2. Your position will be fully titled as “[Title above] of [Nation/State/Providence] Chapter of Mission Green Global.” For example “Outreach Lead of Singapore Chapter of Mission Green Global.”

  3. This is either an International or National level leadership position - no exceptions, you will fall under either International or National level leadership, no matter if you are a chapter lead or their board member!
