OUR STORY
While hiking with family in the mountains of India, Arushi Surve noticed hundreds of plastic bottles scattered all along the beautiful trail. As someone who had always cared about the environment, she was surprised by how common the litter was, and how few people were doing anything about it. She immediately enlisted her family and nearby hikers to help clean up and recycle. That small moment made her realize that environmental action doesn't have to wait—young people can start making a difference right now. It was then that Arushi first saw the need for united, action-driven climate efforts led by passionate youth. After coming back, she gathered friends—Alexa Gilbert, Anusha Ghosalkar, Eubin Kim, Srinidhi Krishnan, Vyhika Gourishetty, and others—and together, they launched Mission Green Global.
From what began as a high school club to now an international, entirely youth-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Mission Green Global's belief has remained the same: environmental change should be accessible, engaging, and collaborative.
Mission Green Global continues to grow because young people believe in taking action—not just talking about it.
